A new initiative in getting students in the woods and their community is to become involved in the Leave No Trace project in cooperation with Native Expeditions "STEWARDS OF THE FOREST CHALLENGE".
Our Classroom Sessions
Native Expeditions strives to bring the outdoors inside with a healthy dose of "edutainment"
where we provide indoor/outdoor hands-on demonstrations utilizing:

These programs offer national education curriculum standards for the classroom incorporating
science, math, history, art, literacy, and outdoor physical education.
Our focus is to bring the Ouachita National Forest into focus under the cooperation of the US Forest Service where learning about forest resources, being prepared to explore and enjoy its bounty in a healthy and responsible way.
Our instructors are also Wilderness First Aid trained and add basic preparedness and survival skills for students to feel confident in the natural world and be good stewards of the land and water.

Environmental Education Presenter Intern Success
Native Expeditions trained 7 students in Project Learning Tree environmental education activities to share with elementary and middle school students in at their schools. Since then 12 presentations have been given to over 300 students in the Waldron and Danville school districts.
