Buffalo National River - Watershed LNT Warriors
Our strategy is to train and establish a network of K4-12 students who build a legacy of stewardship in the Buffalo River watershed. Schools within the watersheds of Buffalo National River (BNR) will be recruited to participate in Arkansas Game & Fish Commission (AGFC) Stream Teams and Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor (LNT) education and stewardship activities. These rural schools will provide the backbone of volunteer stewardship and citizen science to get kids out in the woods and streams. Our goal will be to develop land and water conservation leaders throughout an entire region of the BNR watershed in Arkansas. Stream and trail clean up initiatives will develop awareness and conservation actions within their communities to conserve wild and scenic tributaries and rivers on our public lands.
